a surprisingly progressive mid-west

When I was preparing to moved to Cedar Falls, IA I was repeatedly met with the remark "IOWA!, what's there? corn?" But apart from the bitter winters, tornadoes, and floods I have nothing to say bad about Iowa. Really it's pretty fantastic, cost of living is dirt cheap, technology and industry is booming(somewhat), the people and politics are surprisingly forward-thinking and generally kind.
